Wrap Up for The Third Sathar War
The Third Sathar War was a homebrewed campaign by Jason Janicki using TSR’s 1982 Star Frontiers system. In our wrap up, we take a trip down memory lane investigating our experiences with science fiction, how we got into gaming, and the origins of tabletop gaming in general. Plus our favorite moments from the game!

Into the Depths
I swear to god I’m going to kill him!
Bloodied, beaten and betrayed, the party is in a real bind. They really want to get revenge on Mark Murmur after his horrific treachery nearly caused a TPK. Unfortunately, only he has the codes to fly the Succubus and the GM is using video game logic to force us to follow him. With only one objective left in the quest log, the party heads down into Jocasta Base to meet their destiny.

Monitoring Station Creon
Out of the frying pan and into the fire
Finally on their way out of Minotaur’s orbit, the team heads to the outer system with Mark Murmur in tow. It’s super fortunate that this extremely helpful NPC has the codes and the know-how to fly this highly experimental craft. Unfortunately, the team must now help him complete his mission. Such a simply run to a communications station is so easy. What could go wrong?

Secrets of the Facility
If it sounds too good to be true, it’s probably fine!
Our battered team heads deeper into the Lambda Facility. As they do, they begin to encounter more and more terrible things. Rogue monsters, horrible experiments, and mysterious lights permeate the area. “I hope we get out of here soon,” they say. “If only there was a guy who could provide us with everything we need, conveniently around the next corner, I’d trust him implicitly!”

Hard Choices
Mining Colony Alpha isn’t big enough for the both of us!
Misinterpretations put everyone’s life in jeopardy as Fred Burgess is forced to activate the defenses of Mining Colony Alpha in response to some bad intelligence. Now, the party must make some hard choices. Do they abandon their new friends to the fate they have brought upon them? Or will they stand, fight, and run the risk of not living to tell the UPF of this new and terrible threat?

Landfall
Howdy Partner!
As Melosba Station crumbles and the Sathar Fleet closes in, our team lands near Mining Colony Alpha. What seems like an out of the way holdout location takes an interesting turn as the denizens turn out to have rather eclectic tastes. Hopefully these locals will be able to provide some help, as the Sathar are closing in and there isn't much choice but to delve deeper into the mysteries of Minotaur.

Blasteroid
Things go from bad, to worse, to horrible
With members of the party down for the count and the UPF Naga getting closer to its destination, the heroes begin to formulate the full picture of what has happened here. Apparently, an old enemy has re-surfaced to menace the Frontier yet again. This time, however, they have new and terrible tricks up their sleeves. As the true horror of what is happening sets in, the players can do nothing but sit back and watch as the entire, terrible plan unfolds. What even CAN be done? Find out as the action heats up on this episode of The Third Sathar War!

Neural Interfaces and Frag Grenades
Redefining the term “Not Good”
Things are not good aboard the UPF Naga. Bodies packed into small rooms, people trying to dig their brains out with a spoon, and entire sections of the ship devoid of life can only mean one thing: Time to explore! As the team investigates the bridge and the crew sections, they soon realize that maybe they aren’t the best team for this job. Critical failures and poor decisions make for some entertaining scenes and more uses of the grenade bounce table than I have ever seen in a single combat.

The Derelict
Sometimes an irradiated space hulk is just an irradiated space hulk
Following the harrowing and confusing experience in docking bay 49, our intrepid heroes finally get to the meat-and-potatoes of the mission. The UPF Naga is a mystery to the UPF and, rather than blow it out of the sky, they are being forced to investigate by the mega-corps. Upon setting out on their own ship, the Terra’s Grace (Captain Old Greg commanding), the team finds mounting evidence that something is VERY wrong aboard. The question is: who or what is behind all of this?

Incident at Molasba Station
Welcome to the Frontier
9 days ago, the UPF Naga appeared on the outer edge of the Theseus system. Its unexpected arrival has triggered a legal battle between Cassidine Development Corp and the Association of Intergalactic Power Suppliers. What sounds like a routine and rather boring outing erupts in a hail of laser fire as a BRAND NEW and TOTALLY ORIGINAL scenario unfolds. Welcome to our Star Frontiers campaign. This sci-fi game from 1982 is the spark that started many a love for role-playing (including Jason's and Josh's). Enjoy!
